Windows Picture Viewer

Windows Picture Viewer is an image viewer that is included with the Windows XP. It is capable of viewing image formats: JPEG, BMP, PNG, GIF (also animated GIFs), ICO, WMF, EMF and TIFF format files. It is a newer version of the older Imaging for Windows in previous releases of Windows, and has been replaced with the Windows Photo Gallery in Windows Vista. The regular default is an image is shown at actual size. If an image opens that is larger than the viewing area (for example, viewing a 1024 x 768 picture on an 800 x 600 screen), the image is resized to fit the screen and this is called "Best Fit". Pictures can be enlarged with the zoom function. Features available on the toolbar are: 1) The zoom functions in or out on the image being viewed. 2) A full size image can be viewed using the scrollbars. 3) You can perform certain functions from the viewer such as: Delete, Save, Copy to, Print and Open with. 4) Save or change an image to a different format supported: JPEG, BMP, GIF, TIFF or PNG using the Copy to (Save) button. 5) Set image as the wallpaper/background. 6) Print images using the Photo Printing Wizard. The wizard is not part of the viewer application and can also be launched from Windows Explorer. 7) View all or some of the images as a slideshow. 8) Rotate images right or left by 90 degrees. 9) From the viewer, open the image in the default image editor designated for that image type (Microsoft Paint is the default). 10) Has keyboard shortcuts associated with all of its operations.
